The best dash cam is the one that works when you need it.

We just want the best dash cam for the money. We wish that the sweet spot was under $100, but budgeting just a bit more yields a much better unit. There are lots of dashcams for far less than $100, but the really inexpensive ones seem to have pixelated images, poor quality video, and difficulty in low light.

  • The Rexing V1 also has very good resolution. Its operation is very similar to the Wheel Witness HD Pro. There are newer versions of the Rexing that include two cameras – 0ne looking forward and one looking back would be the usual setup. The picture quality of the Rexing may be just slightly lower quality than the Wheel Witness HD Pro. The Rexing V1 shines in its form factor that allows it to be nearly invisible from the outside of the car. It fits neatly along the top of the windshield and is so low profile that it doesn’t stand out or look conspicuous. The Wheel Witness we have been using attaches with a suction cup and is pretty obvious when you look at the car from the front or even side windows.
